Children
Minor Memorial United Methodist Church offers a wide range of children's ministries including:
- Weekly Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.
- Wednesday Night Kidz4Christ program (Begins Sept. 8, 2010)
- An After-School Program
- Summer Day Care Program
- Acolyte Training
- Summer Vacation Bible School (usually one week in July from 9 to Noon)
- Tons of fun activities throughout the year
These ministries are surrounded by activities during the various seasons that we do each year.
Some of these activities are:
- The Blessing of the books during August as the children prepare to return to school
- Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween
- Plucking the Turkey to prepare for Thanksgiving where the children decorate the Thanksgiving boxes to give out to the community
- Christmas Pageant to learn the story of Jesus' birth
- Easter Egg Hunt and Celebration
Additional Information on the School Age Program:
Minor Memorial UMC School Age Program is an outreach ministry of the church. We offer childcare for up to 60 children between the ages of 5-12 years old. We are open after school from 2:00-6:00pm on Monday through Friday.
During the summer we are open from 7:00am through 6:00pm, providing all day care for the same age group of children and for up to 60 children.
We are licensed by the state of Mississippi and adhere to all regulations governing licensed day care centers.
