Youth
Youth ministry at Minor Memorial is about making connections. It is about our connecting with God and each other. Our desire is to help each individual experience the love of God and the caring support of our faith community. Youth today are growing up in a terror-filled world. At Minor Memorial teenagers can find a safe place where they will be loved, affirmed, encouraged, and challenged to do and be their best.
Through worship, fun games that teach significant truths, great fellowship, opportunities for service, and Bible study our youth grow closer to God and develop into mature young adults. Through these experiences each person has a chance to find a place where he or she really belongs. Minor Memorial offers everyone a chance to become part of a community of people who love and support one another.

Regular Activities:

Wednesday Night Youth
Meal at 5:30pm Fellowship at 6:15pm
Our youth group regularly meets on Wednesday evenings to be together and to learn the scriptures. We do a combination of fun and meaningful activities in order to help us grow in our Christian walk with God.

Sunday Night Youth
Meal at 5:00pm Fellowship at 6:00pm
On Sunday night we participate in a variety of activities. The food is sometimes prepared by the youth members themselves. At six we join together in participatory worship, somtimes led by some of the youth. There is a sermon/bible study that also incorporates the pastor's message from Sunday morning.

Parents:
We appreciate the support you are giving us by sending your teenagers to us at Minor Memorial UMC. We are teaching them the bible along with the life skills that can enrich them for a lifetime.
You are welcome to attend any of the events that we have at the church. These are your children and we know that the more you are involved with them in a church setting then the better .

Throughout the Year:
Summer Camping Trip
Every year we combine our youth group with the youth group from Hernando UMC to take a Camping Trip. This is a big deal for our teens because they have a wonderful time and a great opportunity to be honest with themselves and God about who they are and what they are doing with their life.
You will hear more about the Summer Camping Trip in January, so stay tuned!
Fundraisers
We are going to be doing a lot more fundraising for our youth group to eleviate the financial hardships on everyone.
September: We are going to sell a designed t-shirt to promote our church and the Youth Group. The t-shirt will have the church's name on it.
October: We are coordinating with a company that will let us sell Pumpkins for Halloween. We will get more than half the profit. So don't forget to get in the spirit with a couple of pumpkins from the youth group!
